This Musical instrument is known as "Pungi".This is made of deer thorn.This is used by the Saints who live in Forest .The one in the photo is of Female and it makes beautiful sound.One of the Saint gifted this to me during his visit to my home.In old times it was used by hunters to attract animals.

This Musical instrument is known as "Pungi".This is made of deer thorn.This is used by the Saints who live in Forest .The one in the photo is of Female and it makes beautiful sound.One of the Saint gifted this to me during his visit to my home.In old times it was used by hunters to attract animals.

Such an interesting construction...but who are the "saints" that live in the forest? Are the pungi used in religious services now?
