This Instrument is known as "Matka".This is used for storing the water and also used as an Instrument to play music.Trust me it makes wonderful sounds.
I trust you, Bharat! I've seen how people will fill up water glasses with water at different levels and then use a spoon or something like it to tap on the glasses to get a variety of tones - and like you say, very beautiful!
