What a fascinating holiday, so different from the Jewish ones I know.
ReplyDeletePS Your other blog seems to be down.
I love Indian Sweets.
ReplyDeleteThat is amazing...alcohol? Can you dedicate the alcohol and then take it home and drink it? What would the goddess do with it?
ReplyDeleteFascinating stuff!
Fascinating, as always.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a great festival! And I'm sooo jealous of that goddess!
ReplyDeleteThe position of the market has a great atmosphere. The colorful one of the image is wonderful
ReplyDeleteA warm greeting
I loved the Amber fort, but didn't buy or eat any of the sweets from vendors while I was there for obvious reasons
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of dedicating alcohol to the Goddess. My question is: in the end, who does drink the whisky? Or it end up again at the stall because some kind of priest sell it back to the vendors?
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a fascinating festival. Dedicating alcohol to the goddess is very interesting.
